Setting up accessorials

An accessorial is an extra charge outside the base freight rate — a tail-lift fee, an after-hours surcharge, a redelivery fee. Set them up once and they’re available to add to any order.

Automatic vs. manual

Give an accessorial trigger conditions and Kahala TMS applies it automatically whenever an order matches — for example, any delivery outside business hours. Leave it without triggers and your team adds it manually when it’s needed.

Keeping charges visible

Every accessorial applied to an order shows as its own line on the invoice, so your customer can see exactly what they were charged for and why, rather than one bundled freight figure.
