Understanding roles and permissions

Every user in your company is assigned a role, and each role has its own permission matrix — one row per module, such as Orders, Invoicing, Drivers or Rate Agreements — with four permission levels: Read, Add, Edit and Delete.

The built-in roles

Admin always has full access to everything and can’t be edited — it’s meant for owners and system administrators. Operations, Billing and Viewer are starting points you can customise freely from the Roles & Permissions page: tick or untick any module and action, or create entirely new roles for your own structure, such as a Dispatcher role with no billing visibility at all.

Where permissions apply

Permissions are checked on both the page, hiding buttons and nav items a user can’t use, and on the backend, rejecting the request even if someone finds a way around the interface. That means a Viewer role can’t accidentally, or deliberately, create or edit anything, no matter how they get there.
